Objectives

The principal object of the society will be to promote the interests of all its Members, present in the states/UTs of Kerala and Tamil Nadu to attain their social and economic betterment through self-help and mutual aid in accordance with the cooperative principles.

  • To act as an agent of the members, farmers for supplying the seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, cattle feed and other agri-inputs etc.
  • To undertake purchase, sale of agricultural inputs/implements, marketing and processing requisites, such as manure, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, cattle feed eic for the upliftment of members.
  • To establish units for processing of agricultural, horticultural inputs and produce and other articles such as cattle feed, insecticides, pesticides, zinc, bio-fertilizer, seeds etc.
  • To construct the godowns, cold storage or hire the godowns for agricultural inputs and produce for the welfare of members.
  • To undertake business of carrying, forwarding and/or transporting/storage of all types of agricultural inputs and produce.
  • To identify location specific needs of farming community for farming system based agricultural development.
  • To execute plans through line departments, training institution, NGOs, Farmers Organizations and allied institutions.
  • To help, formulate and implement plan of agricultural productions in the villages and to arrange the demonstration of improved agricultural techniques and manage supply of agricultural productions and such other articles of domestic use as may be required by farmers.

Functions

In furtherance of the above objects, the society may undertake any or all the following activities (to be specifiedas per the objects of the Society.

  • Ensure compliance of the cooperative Principle
  • Provide specialized training, education and data-based information.
  • Promote harmonious relations amongst member cooperative.
  • Undertake research, evaluation and assist in preparation of perspective development plans for its member cooperative.
  • Provide legal aid and advice to member cooperative.
  • Evolve viability norms for a member cooperative.
  • Assist members in organizing self-help:
  • A Cooperative Approach to Eco-Friendly Farming, Resource Management, and Member Support.
  • Serve the interests of members by creating awareness about eco-friendly practices and marketing agricultural produce, adhering to co-operative principles.
  • Promote the social and economic betterment of members through self-help and mutual aid, following co-operative principles.
  • Support and organize cooperative activities related to farming, environmental preservation, and sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, exhibitions, sales events, and demonstrations to educate members and promote the society’s goals.
  • Offer agricultural classes for children, provide training to students in agriculture, and support skill development.
  • Publish educational materials, such as books, newsletters, and films, for public awareness and knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct cultural exchange programs, workshops, and conventions to promote agricultural and eco-friendly practices.
  • Develop and support initiatives that promote the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants for creating value-added products.
  • Establish self-help groups (SHGs) and microfinance networks to support the implementation of society’s projects, offering technical, financial, and managerial assistance.
  • Provide facilities and transportation for members to engage in activities like processing, grading, packing, sorting, and drying of horticultural and agricultural products.
  • Operate travel services and warehouses to support agricultural distribution and storage with advanced cold storage technologies.
  • Establish manufacturing facilities for value-added agricultural products, tools, packing units, and manure production.
  • Offer financial assistance to members for activities related to transportation, production, processing, and marketing.
  • Train members in internal and external customer service to manage operations effectively.
    Promote sustainable and organic farming practices to support environmental equilibrium and biodiversity.
